Victims of Dangerous or Defective Drugs Have Options

Apr 3, 2015 /

The pharmaceutical landscape can be ever-changing. Drug recalls, the withdrawals of certain drugs and safety alerts for others may all routinely impact patients and prescribers. Unfortunately, however, residents of Dallas can be injured or otherwise harmed by a dangerous or defective drug. When the process works properly, pharmaceuticals are able to improve the quality of life and may extend it in some circumstances. However, disastrous effects can also follow when a victim is injured or otherwise harmed by a dangerous or defective drug.

While drugs can present great benefits, defective and dangerous drugs can present equal harm. Dangerous and defective drugs can result in patient injury and even death which can impact the lives of victims and families of victims far into the future. Victims of dangerous or defective drugs can suffer life-altering physical injuries and harm, as well as financial and emotional damages that their families may suffer as well.

When a victim has been harmed by a dangerous or defective drug and a negligent pharmaceutical company, the victim may be able to seek recourse against the drug manufacturer, marketing company and the health care system involved in prescribing the dangerous or defective drug. If drugs are not properly tested, manufactured, labeled, marketed, dispensed or prescribed, the victim of a dangerous drug may be able to bring a claim for the damages suffered. At Lyons & Simmons, the Texas trial lawyers have extensive experience in holding negligent parties accountable for damages done.

When drug companies are able to deliver safe and effective products, everyone wins, however, when dangerous or defective drugs harm victims, the consequences can be significant. Due to the extensive nature of damages that victims of defective or harmful drugs may suffer, it is important that they are familiar with the legal remedies and options available to help them when harmed.
