A lawsuit was recently brought in Texas against a major oil and gas company, alleging the company caused an employee's death by exposing him to asbestos dust and fibers. The wife of the deceased worker brought a lawsuit against the oil and gas company. The surviving spouse of the worker asserts in her lawsuit that while working for the oil and gas company, her husband was exposed to toxic materials, including dust and fibers from asbestos.
The lawsuit further asserts that because of the worker's toxic exposure to asbestos, he developed a disease related to asbestos exposure, mesothelioma, from which he died. According to the lawsuit, the oil and gas company was aware for decades that asbestos products were dangerous to employees but continued to allow employees to work with and around asbestos products. The oil and gas company is accused of gross negligence.
