Wrongful Death Verdict Ranks Among Largest in Texas for 2024
A $37.5 million jury verdict secured on behalf of the family of a man killed in 2021 by an Oncor service vehicle on a Dallas highway is ranked as the third-largest motor vehicle accident verdict in Texas last year according to Top Verdict. Evidence in the case showed that the Oncor driver never applied the brakes or attempted to steer away from hitting and fatally injuring Shamsher Singh, who was standing alongside his disabled 18-wheeler parked on the shoulder of I-635. Houston-based Zehl & Associates attorneys, Ryan Zehl, Matthew Greenberg, and Michael Streich, tried the case alongside their co-counsel, Lyons & Simmons partner, Michael Lyons, during a two-week long trial.
