$109.5 Million Jury Verdict Ranks Among Texas’ Largest of 2025
The firm’s most significant achievement of the year came in February 2025, when a Bexar County jury returned a $109.5 million verdict against CPS Energy stemming from a catastrophic 2021 natural gas explosion at a San Antonio residence.
The jury found that CPS Energy failed to properly maintain its gas infrastructure at the property, despite longstanding warning signs, leading to an explosion and fire that permanently injured two members of the household. One victim was left permanently disabled, while the other sustained long-term physical and psychological trauma.
According to VerdictSearch, as reported by Law.com, the verdict ranked as the second-largest negligence verdict in Texas for 2025 based on the jury’s actual award, and placed among the top nine jury verdicts statewide across all case categories.
