In the spring of 2023, Michael Lyons was part of a trial team with Jason Itkin of Arnold & Itkin, LLP that secured a verdict in excess of $860 million on behalf of the family of a young woman killed when a construction tower crane tore through her downtown Dallas apartment building.
Over the past two years alone, the firm has secured hundreds of millions of dollars in settlements for its clients in cases involving wrongful death and personal injuries in oilfield catastrophes, worksite incidents, trucking crashes, premises defects, medical negligence and other catastrophic personal injury cases.
Lyons & Simmons filed one of the first wrongful death cases stemming from the 2021 Astroworld Festival disaster that left 10 dead and thousands seriously injured. Michael Lyons and Chris Simmons played key roles as members of the plaintiffs’ MDL executive committee, handling key aspects of the case along with other talented committee members. In the summer of 2024, Lyons & Simmons reached confidential settlements with the key defendants in the case on behalf of the family of Danish Baig, one of the 10 who were tragically killed.
