As children across North Texas prepare for a new school year, many are looking forward to the excitement of new backpacks, fresh school supplies, and the opportunity to start the year with confidence. Unfortunately, for thousands of abused and neglected children in Dallas County, those basic school essentials are often out of reach.
Lyons & Simmons is proud to once again serve as the Backpack Sponsor for Community Partners of Dallas' annual Back-to-School Drive, helping provide backpacks, age-appropriate school supplies, and new school uniforms to 2,500 children served by the organization.
For many children entering foster care or living in protective care, a new backpack represents much more than school supplies—it offers a sense of dignity, confidence, and belonging as they begin a new school year alongside their classmates.

Donate New School Supplies
Lyons & Simmons is collecting new school supplies at our office through August 28. Donations of any size will help ensure local children have the tools they need to succeed in the classroom.
Community Partners of Dallas has an ongoing need for items including:
- Backpacks
- Notebooks and folders
- Pencils, pens, crayons, and markers
- Glue sticks and scissors
- Pencil boxes and school organizers
- Children's shoes (especially little kids' sizes 1–13)
- Other essential school supplies
