HB 1603 Relating to the Creation of Chancery Court and the Court of Chancery Appeals to Hear Certain Cases, by Jason Villaba (R - Dallas). Lyons & Simmons, LLP and partner Brian Lauten recently joined a vocal opposition to HB 1603. The bill was opposed by the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Texas, the Judicial Section of the State Bar of Texas, Tex - ABOTA, TTLA and TADC. HB 1603 was not set on the House calendar prior to the calendaring deadline for House bills this session, and therefore will not be considered by the full House this session. This is fortunate for business owners and citizens for the State of Texas as we detailed recently.
